“I became a dentist because I wanted to change lives. I’ve seen firsthand the power of dentistry to restore and transform people.”
Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Dr. Tien Dang received his Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences with honors from McMaster University. During his free time, he was passionate about helping the underserved and enjoyed volunteering at local hospitals and food banks. Wanting to make more impact, he volunteered to travel with physicians and dentists to Costa Rica and Panama to provide care and education to rural communities without access to care. This trip abroad allowed him to see firsthand how dental care changes lives and motivated him to pursue dentistry.
Dr. Dang completed his Doctorate in Dental Surgery at the New York University College of Dentistry, one of the top-ranked dental schools in the world. While attending NYU, Dr. Dang was active in the Aesthetics Club, where he learned foundational principles of advanced cosmetic dental procedures beyond standard dental care. He graduated as one of the most clinically productive student doctors in his class of 400+ students.
During dental school, he was a member of the Patient Survivors of Torture (PSOT) program at Bellevue Hospital, NY. Through the specialized program, he learned effective anxiety-reducing techniques that helped reduce dental anxiety while restoring broken teeth and spirits for patients who escaped as refugees from war-torn countries.
While in the Big Apple, he also brought dental care to public elementary schools across the five boroughs through NYU’s Mobile Dental Van called “Smiling Faces, Going Places.” Being able to help children understand the importance of oral health is one of the main reasons why Dr. Dang enjoys being a dentist.
Dr. Dang is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists (AACD), American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE), American Dental Association (ADA), Texas Dental Association (TDA), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and the International Dental Implant Association (IDIA). He also invests hundreds of hours on continuing education to learn the latest and best evidence-based technology and treatments for his patients.
He enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Tiffany, and their baby boy Travis. He also enjoys traveling, trying out new restaurants, and staying active.
“I love building relationships with patients. Knowing them better helps me tailor treatment to meet their unique wants and needs.”
